Embodiments of the invention provide a method for detecting food safety, a cooking utensil and a computer storage medium. The method comprises the following steps: emitting electromagnetic waves intofood in a pot via an infrared spectroscopic device located on the top of the cooking utensil; acquiring a corresponding infrared spectral pattern; acquiring analysis results according to an absorptionfrequency curve and a characteristic peak curve in the infrared spectral pattern; and generating alarm information according to the analysis results, wherein the alarm information indicates whether the food is safe. According to the invention, the infrared spectroscopic device is mounted on the top of the cooking utensil and can emit an infrared spectrum, and the analysis results can be acquiredon the basis of the corresponding infrared spectral pattern to determine whether the food is safe, so whether the food in the pot is safe or not can be determined in time; thus, a user is prevented from eating unsafe food and the health of the user is guaranteed.
