Abstract

The invention discloses use of aescin and salts thereof in preparation of drugs for treating glaucoma and belongs to the field of pharmacy. Proven by clinical trial results, sodium aescinate has the total effective rate of glaucoma treatment of 85.7% and can be used for improving the eyesight of glaucoma patients and lowering the astigmatism and intraocular pressure of the glaucoma patients; during treatment, the incidence rate of adverse reaction caused by the sodium aescinate is 11.4% and is remarkably lower than that caused by Latanoprost eye drop. Proven by the results, the aescin and salts thereof are safe and effective drugs for treating the glaucoma.
