Abstract

The cutting track optimization method for helical millingof the external thread of the cylinder, for instance, comprises the following steps (X1) the large diameter D, the small diameter D1 and the pitch P of the to-be-machined external thread of the cylinder and the large diameter of a thread milling cutter are obtained; (X2) the helical radius of an external thread machining track is determined based on the pitch P, the small diameter D1 and the large diameter d; (X3) the cutting mode for milling the external thread is determined according to the large diameter D and the large diameter d; (4) a cutting track for milling the external thread is calculated; and (X5) the cutting track for milling the external thread is optimized.
