Problems solved by technology

Taizaghi's effective stress theory describes the compaction process of soil under the action of overlying stress, which is more suitable for clastic rocks with certain compaction laws, but not suitable for carbonates with significant chemical compaction in the diagenesis process. rock formation

Abstract

The invention provides a method for predicting the overpressure of a carbonate rock stratum. The method includes the steps that basic physical parameters are obtained by selecting a comprehensive interpretation model of oil, gas and water well logging according to the carbonate stratum; then a Voigt-Reuss-Hill average modulus model is used for calculating the rock matrix volume modulus, a Wood model or a Patchy model is used for calculating the pore fluid volume modulus, and a BISQ model is used for calculating the rock skeleton volume modulus; and finally, the overpressure is predicted by a porous elastic mechanics quantitative model. The new method for predicting the overpressure of the carbonate rock stratum has the beneficial effects that to a certain extent, the difficulty of overpressure prediction caused by dense and extremely heterogeneous lithology of carbonate rock is solved, and the industrial application value is achieved.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the field of geological exploration, in particular to a method for predicting overpressure in carbonate formations. Background technique [0002] There have been a lot of research and consensus on the cause of overpressure in petroleum basins. Overpressure can be generated by various physical and chemical processes. Undercompaction and structural lateral extrusion directly change the effective stress; hydrocarbon generation and clay mineral dehydration , hydrocarbon cracking and other new pore fluid volume increases; buoyancy and fluid flow pressurization, etc. The causes of large-scale abnormally high pressure can be roughly divided into three categories: undercompaction pressurization (unbalanced formation compaction), hydrocarbon generation pressurization, and structural extrusion pressurization. Overpressure may cause various engineering safety problems such as blowout, wellbore instability, borehole erosion, and drilling ...
