An embodiment of the invention discloses a cardiovascular index detection and model training method and device. The method comprises acquiring collected photoplethysmographic (PPG) signals of an object to be detected; determining each cardiac cycle in the PPG signals, and performing feature extraction on the signal corresponding to each cardiac cycle based on a pre-trained convolutional neural network (CNN) to obtain a feature vector of each cardiac cycle; regressing each feature vector based on a preset cardiovascular index function to obtain a cardiovascular index corresponding to each cardiac cycle; determining a cardiovascular index of the object to be detected according to the cardiovascular index corresponding to each cardiac cycle, wherein the CNN is obtained by conducting trainingusing a sample cardiac cycle and the corresponding standard cardiovascular index, and the cardiovascular index is used for indicating the cardiovascular health.
