In a process of maintaining at a melting point or higher a molten ferroalloy being used during production of manganese-containing alloy steel, a blocking material layer is formed of a blocking material on a surface of the molten ferroalloy to restrain nitrogen in air from incorporating intothe molten ferroalloy, wherein the blocking material comprises 37 to 66 wt% of CaO and SiO[2], 8 to 15 wt% of Al[2]O[3], 6 to 18 wt% of MgO, and 20 to 30 wt% of MnO based on a total of 100 wt%, with aratio of CaO / SiO2 ranging from 0.95 to 1.2.
