The invention discloses SNP locus associated with body height traits of a donkey.The SNP locus is located on the 8chromosome of the donkey and at the 42726257position of nucleic acid, the SNPlocus is base A or G, and the body height ofthe AA genotype of the SNP locusis significantly higher than that of individuals with genotype of AG and GG. The invention also discloses a primer pair andkit for detecting the SNP locus. The SNP locus and the primer pairand kitfor detecting the SNP locus can be used for identifying the body height traits of the donkey and promoting the breeding process. The detection of the SNP locus also provides a scientific basis for molecular marker-assisted selection of the body high traits of the donkey.
