Abstract

A method for generating high resolution multi-spectral light fields is disclosed. The method may include the steps: capturing a multi-perspective spectral image which includes a plurality of sub-viewimages; aligning and warping the sub-view images to obtain low resolution multi-spectral light fields; obtaining a high resolution dictionary and a low resolution dictionary; obtaining a sparse representation based on the low resolution multi-spectral light fields and the low resolution dictionary; and generating high resolution multi-spectral light fields with the sparse representation and the high resolution directory. Each sub-view image is captured with a different perspective and a different spectral range. The multi-perspective spectral image is obtained with one exposure.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention generally relates to fast plenoptic imaging systems, and more particularly to a method and system for generating high-resolution multispectral light fields. Background technique [0002] The complete light field is also called the plenoptic function, and it has 6 dimensions: 2 space dimensions; 2 angle dimensions; 1 spectrum dimension; and 1 time dimension. Light field cameras, also known as plenoptic cameras, capture light from all directions within a scene. That is, compared to conventional cameras that only record light intensity, light-field cameras capture both the intensity and direction of light, allowing complex data processing even after image data is captured. For example, it is possible to virtually change the focus or perspective, or to estimate a depth map from a single exposure. [0003] However, traditional light field cameras using microlens arrays such as Lytro and Raytrix can only record 4 dimensions of the lig...
