Abstract

The invention discloses a system and a method for testing fracture toughness of a thermal barrier coating. The system comprises a universal material testing machine, a supporting piece, a pressing rod, a heating furnace and an acoustic emission detector, wherein the universal material testing machine comprises a movable cross beam and a measuring table; the bottom of the supporting piece is fixedon the measuring table, and the upper part of the supporting piece is used for supporting the thermal barrier coating; one end of the pressing rod is connected to the movable cross beam, so that whenthe movable cross beam moves downwards, the pressing rod is driven to press the thermal barrier coating; the heating furnace is arranged in the universal material testing machine, and a first throughhole allowing the pressing rod to pass through is arranged in the top of the heating furnace; a second through hole allowing the supporting piece to pass through is arranged in the bottom of the heating furnace; and the acoustic emission detector is connected to the thermal barrier coating, an acoustic emission phenomenon is generated when the thermal barrier coating is pressed by the pressing rod, and the acoustic emission detector acquires changes of an acoustic emission event of the thermal barrier coating over time. The device can be used for testing the fracture toughness of the surface and the interface of the thermal barrier coating, the equipment is simple, the operation is convenient, the feasibility is strong, the test temperature is high, and the test sensitivity is high.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the field of coating materials, in particular to a system and method for testing the fracture toughness of thermal barrier coatings. Background technique [0002] Thermal barrier coating has become a key thermal protection material inside the engine due to its good heat insulation, wear resistance and corrosion resistance. However, due to the complex structure of the thermal barrier coating system and the harsh service environment, the coating often breaks and peels off, leading to coating failure and even catastrophic accidents. Therefore, studying the failure modes of thermal barrier coatings and obtaining their key mechanical parameters (such as surface fracture toughness and interface fracture toughness) can provide a basis for thermal barrier coating life prediction and reliability evaluation, and is an important content of failure research. [0003] At present, there are many devices and methods for studying the fracture...
