The circuit arrangement comprises: conversion means (K) which generate a regenerated digital output signal (UA) by comparing the input signal (UE) to at least N-1 reference levels (UIGN); at least one integration member (IG) for generating the at least N-1 reference levels (UDCN) by integrating the sections of the input signal (UE) which consist of the characteristic data sequences; a switching device (S) that may be driven to switch on and off the integration of the input signal (UE); a controller (CTRL) which switches on the integration process by driving the switching device (S) at the beginning of a characteristic data sequence in the signal flow and which switches off again the integration process when the end of the data sequence is recognized to avoid shifting the at least N-1 reference levels (UDCN); and at least one delaying element (VZ) for delaying the supply of the input signal to the at least one integration member with regard to supply of the input signal to the conversion means (K), and thus to prevent the continuation of the integration beyond the end of a characteristic data sequence.
