The method comprises following steps: step 1, whether a geothermal layer with available geothermal resourcesat the upper part or the lower part of a target oil layer exists or not is judged according to geological conditions of an area where a target oil reservoir is located; step 2, after the available geothermal resources are discovered, at least two injection wells and at least one production well are deployed in the location area of the target oil reservoir, and the injection wells are applied to injection of injection fluid; and step 3, the injection fluid is heated by the geothermal resources of the geothermal layer, the heated injection fluid replaces crude oil in the heavy oil reservoir, andtherefore, exploiting of the heavy oil reservoir is realized. According to the method, by means of the geothermal resources of the geothermal layer, continuous and stable heat energy supply is guaranteed, cost of a thermal recovery process of heavy oil is reduced, and recovery ratio of the heavy oil reservoir is greatly increased.
