The invention discloses a method and a system for determining a filtering factor of a hydro-thermal power frequency division control AGC system, and the method comprises the steps: setting a power grid to be in a non-frequency division adjustment mode, determining a thermal power generating unit frequency modulation filtering factor alternative value according to a steady-state frequency modulation result, and determining a hydro-thermal power generating unit frequency modulation filtering factor alternative value according to a disturbance frequency modulation result; setting the power grid to be in a frequency-division adjusting mode; setting a filtering factor of the AGC system according to the current alternative value of the thermal power generating unit frequency modulation filteringfactor and the alternative value of the hydroelectric generating unit frequency modulation filtering factor; and performing a simulation test to obtain a secondary frequency modulation result of theAGC system to the power grid in the frequency division regulation mode, and determining the optimal value of the filter factor of the hydro-thermal power frequency division control AGC system according to the secondary frequency modulation result. According to the method, the filtering factor of the AGC system is accurately and efficiently determined through a simulation means, the dependence of parameter configuration on previous operation experience of a previous power grid is reduced, an optimal solution can be quickly given, the optimal frequency modulation performance of the frequency modulation unit is fully exerted, and the trial and error cost during trial operation is reduced.
