Example Embodiment

[0045] figure 1 A schematic exploded view of an optical disc drive 1 used in an optical disc library according to an embodiment of the present invention is shown. The optical disc drive 1 is installed in a 19-inch standard cabinet. Such as figure 1 As shown, the optical disc drive 1 includes a main frame 10 and a tray 20. The tray 20 is retractably arranged in the main frame 10 and used for holding an optical disc. The main frame 10 has a rectangular cross-section on the plane where the optical disc is located, and it is a rectangular parallelepiped as a whole. The tray 20 is configured to be drawn out from the main frame 10 or pushed into the main frame 10 in a direction parallel to the extension direction of the short sides of the rectangle, so as to load or unload the optical disc. The size of the tray 20 also needs to be redesigned to adapt to the way it is drawn or pushed in from the width direction of the main frame 10. Wherein, the extension direction of the short sid...

Abstract

An optical disc drive for use in an optical disc library is provided. The optical disc driver is installed in a 19-inch standard cabinet. The optical disc driver comprises a main frame and a tray which is arranged in the main frame in a drawable mode and used for supporting an optical disc. The cross section of the main frame on the plane where the optical disc is located is rectangular. The trayis arranged to be capable of being pulled out of the main frame or pushed into the main frame in the direction parallel to the extending direction of the short edges of the rectangle so as to load orunload the optical disc. According to the scheme of the embodiment of the invention, the tray is pulled out or pushed in from the width direction of the optical disc drive. Therefore, when the tray isin an open state, the occupied space of the tray in the case of the optical disc library is much smaller than that in the prior art, two columns of optical disc drivers can be oppositely placed in the case without mutual interference, and the placing number of the optical disc drivers in one standard case is greatly increased.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the technical field of data storage, in particular to an optical disc driver used in an optical disc library. Background technique [0002] The optical disc library is a mass data storage device that uses standardized optical discs as data storage media. Users can conveniently search for the data of all discs in the disc library, and can also conveniently write data to the discs in the disc library. Therefore, optical disc libraries are widely used in long-term archiving and preservation of data. [0003] An existing optical disc library includes an optical disc magazine, an optical disc drive, a robot assembly and a control unit. When reading and writing optical disc data, the manipulator assembly draws out the optical disc tray at the designated position in the optical disc magazine according to the instruction of the control unit, and transports the optical disc in the optical disc tray to the designated optical disc drive...
