Embodiment 1
[0123] Example 1: Composition for blown film process using CAP 1 and PBS 1
[0124] The homogeneous mixture of the polymer composition according to the invention is formed into a plastic film using a blown film process. A homogeneous polymer mixture is obtained by melt mixing. Mixing is performed at a temperature of 210° C. for a period of 30 seconds to 3.5 minutes.
[0125] Details on the compositions and films can be found in Table 2.
[0126] Table 2. Films made from polymer compositions according to the invention.
[0127]
[0128] In Table 2, CAP is cellulose acetate propionate and PBS is polybutylene succinate.
[0129] The polymer composition also contained 0.1% by weight of silica.
[0130] The compositions in Table 2 produced colorless, clear, transparent films with good mechanical properties, especially high tensile strength and modulus. The mechanical properties of the films 1-4 produced are described in Table 3.

Embodiment 2
[0134] Example 2: Composition for blown film process with CAP 1, PBS 1 and TEC
[0135] The homogeneous polymer mixture comprising the polymer composition according to the invention is formed into a plastic film using a blown film process. A homogeneous polymer mixture is obtained by melt mixing. Mixing is performed at a temperature of 210° C. for a period of 2 minutes to 3.5 minutes.
[0136] Details on the compositions and films can be found in Table 4.
[0137] Table 4. Films made from polymer compositions according to the invention.
[0138]
[0139] In Table 4, CAP is cellulose acetate propionate, PBS is polybutylene succinate, and TEC is triethyl citrate.
[0140] The compositions in Tables 2 and 4 give clear, transparent films of good quality suitable for making packaging materials.
[0141] A comparison of the transparency of the produced films can be seen in figure 1 , where numbers 1 to 5 represent films 1 to 5 as described above. As can be seen from the fig...
Embodiment 3
[0142] Example 3: Blown film process using CAP 2 and PBS 2
[0143] The homogeneous polymer mixture comprising the polymer composition according to the invention is formed into a plastic film using a blown film process. In the first step, CAP 2 and PBS 2 were mixed using a twin-screw compounder / extruder to form a homogeneous blend. Mixing was performed at a temperature of 210°C. In the case of film 7, the wire from the compounder was cooled on a Teflon belt in the absence of water before the pellets were cut. In the case of Film 8, the wire from the compounder was cooled in a water bath before the pellets were cut. In a second step, both films 7 and 8 were blown in a similar manner to films 1-6.
[0144] The processing temperature of the blown film process is 210-230°C. It was concluded that temperature is highly important to obtain clear and transparent films with good quality and mechanical properties.
[0145] Details on the compositions and films can be found in Table...
