Problems solved by technology

Since the torsion spacers are supposed to be functionally deformed during operation of the steering gear, their embedding in the plastic of the bearing sleeve causes enormous local stresses in the plastic which can lead to deformation of the bearing sleeve. cracking and thus causing its failure in the long run

Embodiment Construction

[0050] figure 1 The main components of the steering gear according to the invention are shown. This steering gear comprises a housing 1 , inside which a gear 2 and a pinion 3 in the form of a helical pinion meshing with this gear 2 are arranged in a rotatable manner. The pinion 3 and the (helical) pinion shaft 4 including the pinion 3 are integrally formed in the form of a worm.

[0051] The gear wheel 2 is fixed fixedly on the output shaft 5 of the steering gear. In the exemplary embodiment shown, this output shaft 5 has a toothing for a secure torsionally fixed connection to the gear wheel 2 , which can be connected, for example, to a straight steering link configured as a toothed rack at least in one section. Engagement, whereby the toothed rack executes a translational movement, which can be converted in a known manner via a wheel steering arm (not shown) into a pivoting movement of a steerable wheel (not shown) of the motor vehicle. However, the output shaft 5 can also...

Abstract

A steering gear for a steering system of a motor vehicle is provided, having a casing, a toothed gear, a pinion which meshes with the toothed gear, and a pinion shaft which comprises the pinion. The pinion shaft is mounted, on a first side of the pinion, in a fixed bearing which comprises a rotary bearing in which the pinion shaft is received and which is received in a bearing sleeve (14) composedof plastic. The fixed bearing furthermore comprises a pivot ring (15), which has an outer ring (18) and an inner ring which are pivotably connected to one another by means of one or more torsion webs, wherein the inner ring is received in the bearing sleeve (14) and the outer ring (18) is arranged in the casing. The torsion webs each extend through an opening (32) in the bearing sleeve (14), wherein at least one of those delimiting surfaces (33) which delimit the opening (32) in an axial direction with respect to the longitudinal axis (30) of the bearing sleeve (14) - is arranged spaced apartfrom the torsion web received therein and / or - has a radial width which is smaller than the radial width, averaged over the circumference, of that axial portion of the bearing sleeve (14) in which said delimiting surface (33) is situated. In this way, mechanical overloading of the plastic in the region of said delimiting surfaces (33) as a result of contact with the torsion webs that are functionally deformed during the operation of the steering gear is prevented.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a steering gear for a steering system and a corresponding steering system, in particular a power steering system, for a motor vehicle. The invention also relates to a method for producing such a steering gear. Background technique [0002] Power steering systems are installed in most motor vehicles, which generate an auxiliary torque during steering and thereby reduce the steering torque that is to be exerted by the driver on the steering column. [0003] Known power steering systems are based on a steering gear that converts the drive power of a hydraulic or electric steering motor and transmits it, for example, to a steering column. Such a steering gear can be formed in the form of a hob gear and in particular as a helical gear or a worm gear. These steering gears then comprise a gear which can be connected directly or indirectly to the steering column and a pinion meshing with this gear which is driven via a shaft by the s...
