The method comprises the following steps of receiving a video of a steel rail shot by a high-speed camera; generating a key frame image for each key frame of the video, and setting the first label information for each key frame image; inputting each key frame image into a first machine learning model; inputting each steel rail image output by the first machine learning model into a second machine learning model; and acquiring the second label information output by the second machine learning model, and setting the state of the first label information of the key frame image corresponding to the steel rail image as detection problem under the condition that the second label information indicates that the steel rail image has the surface defect.
