Embodiment Construction

[0037] The present invention is described in detail now in conjunction with accompanying drawing, accompanying drawing shows preferred embodiment of the present invention

[0038] Example.

[0039] Referring to the drawings, Figure 1 shows a cross-sectional view of one embodiment of an ostomy support garment assembly of the present invention placed on the abdomen of an ostomy patient with a two-piece ostomy appliance.

[0040] Figure 1 shows an ostomy support assembly comprising a garment 1 having a first hole 2 for receiving a stoma 3, said hole having a firm edge 4, and a disc 5 , the tray has a second hole for receiving said stoma to provide support for the material removed to form the hole for supporting the garment. Between the support garment and the patient's abdomen is placed an ostomy body side element which has an adhesive wafer 6 for sticking to the skin of the user. The wafer is provided with a coupling ring 7 for releasably bonding an ostomy collection bag 8 hav...

Abstract

An ostomy support set comprising a garment having a first hole for receiving a stoma, said hole having a stabilised edge, and a disc for providing the supporting effect of the material removed for forming the first hole, said disc having a second hole for receiving the stoma wherein the disc has an outer diameter greater than the diameter of the first hole provides a snug fit to the stoma, ensures an easy application and removal of the garment and of a collecting bad combined with a sufficient support next to the stoma.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to an ostomy support garment having an aperture for receiving a stoma and a method of applying the ostomy support garment to a user. Background technique [0002] In a large number of surgeries for gastrointestinal diseases, as a result, in many cases the colon, ileum or urethra have been surgically exposed and the patient is left with an abdominal stoma. Such artificial orifices or fistulas cannot be controlled at will, and consequently incontinence is inevitable, and bodily exudates or excretions transported through these tissues are expelled through said artificial orifices or openings and collected in a collection bag. The bag is usually adhered to the skin by means of an adhesive wafer or plate having an inlet for receiving the stoma. Such appliances may be two-piece or one-piece appliances. In both types of appliances, a body side member is adhered to the abdomen of the wearer and a receiving member or pouch is adh...
