Embodiment 1

[0048] Reduced wrinkles after ironing with liquid detergent containing polymers

[0049] The purpose of this example is to prove that when the high-efficiency liquid detergent containing the fabric care composition of the present invention is used in the washing cycle of an automatic washing machine, it provides the benefits of reducing wrinkles after ironing and improving wrinkle resistance. The following compositions were prepared as shown in Table 1. Samples 1 and 3 are control compositions, and samples 2 and 4 are compositions of the present invention.

[0050] Ingredient%

[0051] * The polymer / urea-derived compound composition consists of 16.7 g of Alcosperse 602N polyacrylic acid (available from Alco Chemical Company, Chattanooga, TN) with an average molecular weight of 4,500-5,000 (45% active) and 1.0 g of dihydroxyethyl urea (85% active) composition. The above mixture is stirred until a solution is formed. This is a 50% active solution.

Embodiment 2

[0057] Reduced wrinkles after ironing with polymer-containing fabric softener

[0058] The purpose of this example is to prove that when the fabric care composition of the present invention containing a cationic fabric softener is used in the rinsing cycle of a washing machine, it has the benefits of reducing wrinkles and improving wrinkle resistance after ironing. The following compositions were prepared as shown in Table 3. Sample 5 is the control composition, while sample 6 is the composition of the invention.

[0059] Ingredients

[0060] * The polymer / urea derived compound composition is the same as described in Example 1.

[0061] By washing with 80 g of US Tide SCHDD in a 17-gallon top loading washing machine set for hot washing, 20 10"×10" dense woven cotton samples for each sample were prepared. After the above-mentioned washing cycle is completed, the above-mentioned sample cloth is dried in an electric clothes dryer and spread out for storage.

Embodiment 3

[0066] Reduced wrinkles before ironing

[0067] Prepare fabric softening composition as shown in Table 5. Samples 7, 9 and 10 are control compositions, while sample 8 is the fabric care composition of the present invention.

[0068] Ingredients

[0069] Women's cotton white blouses (Land's End) for each sample were prepared by washing 80 g of American commercial SCHDD powder in a 17-gallon top loading washing machine at 55C and then dried in an electric clothes dryer.

[0070] Use 62g of the aforementioned SCHDD powder and 120F water to wash the overalls for each sample in a 17-gallon top-loading washing machine under a 4 lb load. The washing cycle is 10 minutes. In order to get rid of excess foam, rinse the load twice. The softener composition (85ml) was added to the second rinse, and the rinse cycle lasted 2 minutes (the machine's cycle). The washed items are then taken out of the sink and the same product is used to repeat the above washing / rinsing cyc...

Abstract

An aqueous fabric care composition for use in the wash or rinse cycle of a washing machine to clean or soften fabrics while providing the treated fabrics with benefits related to moisture absorption, fragrance deposition, stain removal, and reduced pre-ironing benefits. Improved benefits in terms of wrinkles and better appearance after ironing, the composition comprising: (a) from about 0.1% to about 30% by weight of a surfactant selected from the group consisting of anionic, nonionic and cationic surfactants , wherein the surfactant is not derived from hydrazine; (b) from about 0.1% to about 5% by weight of (i) a polymer derived from a polycarboxylic acid; and (ii) a compound derived from urea; and (c) The remaining water and additives.

Description

[0001] The present invention relates to aqueous fabric care compositions for use in washing or rinsing tanks, which provide improved benefits to treated fabrics. In more detail, the present invention relates to a fabric care composition containing a polycarboxylate polymer and a urea-derived compound. The composition provides the treated fabric with water absorption, fragrance deposition, stain removal, ironing The improved benefits of previously reduced wrinkles and better appearance after ironing. Background of the invention [0002] Fabric care compositions that achieve a softening effect in the washing or rinsing cycle of an automatic washing machine or in an aqueous washing / rinsing tank are widely known in the prior art. Although these fabric care compositions are known to provide very good softening properties to treated fabrics, they have certain negative effects on various properties such as moisture absorption, fragrance deposition and fabric wrink...
