Embodiment Construction

[0015] Embodiments according to the present invention will be described below with reference to these drawings. figure 1 Shown is a block diagram showing the structure of an image reproducing apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention. The image reproduction device 10 roughly includes a buffer unit 20 , a user instruction unit 40 , a decoding unit 50 , a reproduction control unit 60 , a stream analysis unit 70 , and a local storage 80 .

[0016] The buffer unit 20 is used to accumulate image data input or output to the decoding unit 50, and is constituted by a fast and large-capacity memory such as DRAM. The image data includes any number of reference images required in the inter prediction process that is part of the decoding process.

[0017] The user instructing unit 40 is used to receive an operation signal when the user instructs reverse reproduction. When the user performs a remote control operation through a remote controller, a light receiving unit...

Abstract

The present invention provides an image reproducing apparatus that requires a small amount of storage capacity in reverse reproduction. The device has: an analysis unit (70) for acquiring, from control data having an encoded data stream, a correlation between a plurality of items of reference image data to be referred to during the decoding process; a buffer unit (20); and a decoding unit (50). An accumulation control unit (60a) uses the correlation information obtained in the analysis unit (70) to extract a plurality of items of reference image data from the stream and temporarily accumulates them in the buffer unit (20). The decoding control unit (60b) sequentially outputs reproduced image data decoded in the decoding unit (50) in reverse timing as reverse reproduction.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a video reproducing apparatus for reading information from a recording medium and reproducing video, and more particularly, to an apparatus in which reverse reproduction processing and its functions are improved. Background technique [0002] An apparatus for recording / reproducing a video signal to a recording medium such as an optical disk, a magnetic disk, or a video tape has functions of forward reproduction, still reproduction, reverse reproduction, and the like. When video signals are compressed in the MPEG (Moving Picture Experts Group) system, a buffer memory for accumulating decoded data is required in reverse reproduction. Conventionally, this storage capacity requires a considerable capacity (see, for example, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2003-244641). [0003] The conventional devices and methods have assumed the use of a buffer memory in which several items of fully decoded image data are store...
