Problems solved by technology

[0006] However, when halogen-free wires are used together with PVC-covered wires, or when PVC resin is used for bundling materials, a problem arises: If the halogen-free wires and PVC-containing components come into contact with each other, the resulting damage to the halogen-free wires occurs. Deterioration of the covering material leads to cracking, breaking, etc., shortening the service life of the halogen-free wire
Therefore, it has been sought to develop a halogen-free electric wire having a covering material that does not suffer from a shortened service life even if the covering material comes into contact with an element containing a PVC resin

Embodiment 1

[0037] Example 1 [preparation of halogen-free electric wire]

[0038] The ethylene-ethyl acrylate copolymer comprising 100 parts by weight, the aluminum hydroxide A of 70 parts by weight, the antioxidant of 4 parts by weight, the metal deactivator of 1 part by weight and 2 parts by weight of A resin composition of a crosslinking accelerator (trimethylolpropyl trimethacrylate) was melt-mixed. The obtained halogen-free polyolefin resin composition was pelletized by Feeder-Ruder.

[0039] Pellets of the zero-halogen composition were extruded onto an annealed copper strand conductor (37 / 0.32) using a melt extruder (diameter 50 mm, L / D=24) such that the thickness of the insulating coating was 0.7 mm. Next, an electron beam was irradiated onto the coating at 200 kGy with an accelerating voltage of 2 MeV. An electric wire with a crosslinked halogen-free insulating coating is thus produced.

Embodiment 2

[0041] As in Example 1, an electric wire with a cross-linked halogen-free insulating coating was produced, except that the content of the resin composition was changed to: 100 parts by weight of ethylene-ethyl acrylate copolymer, 100 parts by weight of aluminum hydroxide A, 4 parts by weight of antioxidant, 1 part by weight of metal deactivator and 2 parts by weight of crosslinking accelerator (trimethylolpropyl trimethacrylate).

Embodiment 3

[0043] As in Example 1, an electric wire with a cross-linked halogen-free insulating coating was produced, except that the content of the resin composition was changed to: 100 parts by weight of ethylene-ethyl acrylate copolymer, 100 parts by weight of aluminum hydroxide B, 4 parts by weight of antioxidant, 1 part by weight of metal deactivator, and 2 parts by weight of crosslinking accelerator (trimethylolpropyl trimethacrylate).

Abstract

This invention provides a nonhalogen electric wire having an insulating cover which is less likely to cause a lowering in service life even in contact with a PVC resin-containing member, an electric wire bundle, which comprises a combination of this nonhalogen electric wire with a PVC resin-containing member and does not cause a significant lowering in service life of the nonhalogen electric wire covering material, and an automobile wire harness comprising the electric wire bundle. The nonhalogen electric wire is characterized in that the nonhalogen electric wire comprises an electric conductor and a covering material covering the periphery of the electric conductor, the covering material contains a polyolefin resin and a flame retardant, and the flame retardant is composed mainly of aluminum hydroxide and particularly has an aluminum hydroxide content of not less than 80% by weight. The electric wire bundle comprises this nonhalogen electric wire and a vinyl chloride resin-containing member. The automobile wire harness comprises this electric wire bundle.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a halogen-free electric wire usable in a wiring harness for automobiles or other automobile equipment, a wire harness including a halogen-free electric wire and a component containing vinyl chloride resin, and a wiring harness for automobiles including the wire harness. Background technique [0002] A wire harness that can be used as a wiring part for automobiles, etc., consisting of a wire bundle prepared by bundling a plurality of insulated wires. In general, widely used harnesses are constructed such that the wire bundle is wrapped with a tape having an adhesive material or with a protective sheet, or the wire bundle is inserted into an insulating tube so that its outer periphery can be protected with the insulating tube. [0003] Hitherto, polyvinyl chloride (PVC)-covered electric wires produced by applying an insulating coating of PVC resin to the surface of conductors composed of copper, copper alloys, etc. have b...
