Abstract

This invention is directed to lottery validation and payment method, particularly intended for State lotteries, which accommodates promotional tickets, online tickets and instant tickets with improved functionality and capability.

Description

FIELD OF THE INVENTION[0001]This invention relates to the operation of lottery games, and, more particularly, to a method of validating lottery tickets presented for redemption by players and then paying prizes for winning tickets.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION[0002]Government-sponsored lotteries have been in existence in the United States for decades, and at least forty States currently operate one or more lottery games. As the number of players grew, and the complexity of the games offered by lotteries increased, hardware-based check printing systems proved to be inadequate.[0003]Many improvements...
