Abstract

The present invention discloses one kind of building material of red mud and quartz sand and its preparation process. The raw material includes red mud as the industrial waste from alumina plant in 10-95 wt%, and quartz sand including river sand and industrial waste with 40 wt% over quartz content in 5-90 wt%. The preparation process includes the following steps: ball milling quartz sand to 1 mm below size and sieving; ball milling the mixture of quartz sand and red mud, forming the ground mixture into blank, and sintering the blank at 850-1150 deg.c for 0.5-3 hr to obtain the building material. The prepared building material may be solid bearing brick, porous bearing brick, partition board, etc. The present invention has waste utilization, saving in resource, low cost, high product performance and other features.
