Abstract

A finely cut paper product is provided which has good handling property for use in the production of a paper-resin composition comprising a mixture of a resin and a natural fiber. An ecologically sound paper-resin composition prepared using the finely cut paper product has improved flowability, and also has improved moldability during the processing by injection molding or the like. Moreover, in a molded article formed from the composition, yellowing and odor formation can be reduced. The finely cut paper product for use in the mixing with a resin is characterized in that it comprises 70 to 100% by mass of a bleached broadleaf chemical pulp, 0 to 20% by mass of a bleached coniferous chemical pulp and 0 to 20% by mass of an inorganic filler, and that it can be produced by finely cutting a neutral or alkaline non-pigmented enamel paper having an ISO brightness of 70% or higher. The ecologically sound paper-resin composition containing the finely cut paper product is characterized in that it contains 50% by mass or more of the finely cut paper product and the remainder (i.e., the main component) is a synthetic resin or that it comprises, as the main components, the finely cut paper product and a biodegradable resin.
