The invention discloses a system for position control by applying short messages and GPS intelligent terminal and a method thereof, which relates to the technical field of utilizing GPS global position system on the mobile terminal. The system includes: a position inquiry module which is used for generating or analyzing position inquiry short message command and implementing short message transmission with another terminal through a wireless communication module on the communication terminal; and a safety center module that is used for deploying verification information and verifying validity of the position inquiry short message and sending position inquiry information to a GPS satellite through a GPS device on the communication terminal after the verification passes. When in an emergency status, the invention is capable of being activated by a consumer to send emergency help information and send short messages containing information related to the geographic position and the consumer to a help center or supervisors, thereby ensuring safety of the consumer and facilitating the rescue work to be effectively carried out in an emergency condition.
