Problems solved by technology

Therefore, it can be seen that the method of the MAC layer only focuses on solving the energy consumption problem of this layer, and does not consider the routing information from the network layer.
The routing protocol at the network layer only focuses on the connectivity or the validity of the path, without considering the working cycle of the MAC layer nodes.
Such a single-layer method leads to low energy utilization of nodes and unsatisfactory energy-saving effect

[0027] Figure 1 describes the maintenance process of the neighbor table. Studies have shown that the probability of a sensor network node successfully receiving a data packet mainly depends on the signal strength of the receiver, which is generally measured by the Received Signal Strength Index (RSSI). At the same time, the received signal strength index (RSSI) value has a great relationship with the transmission power between nodes, and the research found a linear relationship. Therefore, firstly, a threshold of RSSI value, a threshold of node successfully receiving data packets and a set of different levels of transmission power are set for the current node i, and at the same time, the node i uses this set of different levels of transmission power to send information to other nodes in the wireless sensor network. The node broadcasts data packets, and after node i+1 receives this group of data packets sent with different levels of transmission power, the physical layer of nod...

Abstract

The invention provides an energy saving method for wireless sensor networks based on cross layers and starting from a network layer and a MAC layer of the wireless sensor network and taking the comprehensive consideration of the effect of the two layers on the energy consumption problem of the wireless sensor network, the invention firstly collects related information from the MAC layer to build and maintain a neighboring table for every node in the wireless sensor network; then, the invention finds a router of a destination node (namely a convergent node), which consumes the least energy for every node of the wireless sensor network by making use of the neighboring table of every node and the related information collected from the MAC layer so as to build a routing table for every node; finally, the data packet is forwarded from a source node to the destination node (namely the convergent node) by making use of the built routing tables. The working mode of the node is determined in the process of data packet and forwarding according to the routing information and at the same time, the energy consumption problems such as collision and crosstalk and so on existed in the MAC layer are solved.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the field of wireless sensor network energy management, in particular to a cross-layer-based method for solving the problem of wireless sensor network energy consumption. Background technique [0002] As a new means of information perception and acquisition, wireless sensor network is considered to be one of the technologies that will have a great influence on the 21st century because of its own characteristics and wide application prospects. Survivability is one of the basic issues to be considered first in wireless sensor networks. In wireless sensor networks, nodes are usually powered by batteries with extremely limited capacity, and it is often inconvenient or even impossible to charge or replace batteries, which will lead to the failure of sensor network nodes and ultimately the collapse of the entire network. Therefore, how to save the power consumption of network nodes and prolong the network lifetime during network use...
