Embodiment 1

[0047] This embodiment describes in detail that the RNC calculates and sets the frame number of the MBMS data packet according to the air interface transmission time, so as to realize that the UMTS network transmits the MBMS data packet at a specific air interface transmission time.

[0048] figure 1 It is a flowchart of a method for sending MBMS data packets in a UMTS network in the first embodiment of the present invention. Such as figure 1 As shown, the method includes the following steps:

[0049] Step 100: The RNC receives the MBMS data packet, and obtains the air interface transmission time of the MBMS data packet.

[0050] In this step, there are two methods for the RNC to obtain the air interface transmission time of the MBMS data packet:

[0051] The first is that before the execution of this step, when the core network (CN, CoreNetwork) device of the upstream device of the RNC sends an MBMS data packet to the RNC, the air interface transmission time information is add...

Embodiment 2

[0127] This embodiment describes in detail that the CN device first determines the length of time the data packet is sent from the core network to the air interface, and then determines the time to send the data packet to the RNC according to the air interface transmission time, and sends it to the RNC at that time, and the RNC After processing according to the method in the prior art, it is sent through the NodeB, so that the UMTS network can send the data packet at a specific air interface sending time.

[0128] Figure 5 It is a flowchart of a method for sending an MBMS data packet in the second embodiment of the present invention. Such as Figure 5 As shown, the method includes the following steps:

[0129] Step 500: The CN device predetermines the length of time from sending a data packet from the CN device to sending it out through the air interface.

[0130] In this step, the time from sending a data packet from the CN device to sending it out from the air interface includ...

Abstract

The invention discloses a method for transmitting multimedia broadcast/multicast service (MBMS) data packet. The method comprises the following steps: receiving a MBMS data packet by a radio network controller (RNC) to obtain the air interface transmission time of the MBMS data packet; determining the time for transmitting the MBMS data packet according to the air interface transmission time; and transmitting the MBMS data packet at the time. The invention also discloses the RNC and core network (CN) equipment. By using the method, a universal mobile telecommunication system (UMTS) can transmit the MBMS data packet according to the acquired air interface transmission time, thereby achieving the synchronization of MBMS data content in the UMTS, a high-speed packet access plus (HSPA+) network and a long term evolution (LTE) network.

Description

Technical field [0001] The present invention relates to Multimedia Broadcast / Multicast Service (MBMS, Multimedia Broadcast / Multicast Service) technology, in particular to a method and device for sending MBMS data packets. Background technique [0002] MBMS broadcasts or multicasts multimedia data to user equipment (UE, User Equipment) by sharing a transmission link. MBMS control signaling and service data are transmitted on the broadcast channel of the air interface, so authorized users in the connected state and idle state can read the control signaling and service data to enjoy MBMS. The services provided by MBMS to users are mainly sound, image, and video, so the service data received by users cannot have obvious interruption and jitter. [0003] MBMS was introduced in the R6 version of the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS, Universal Mobile Telecommunications System), which uses the UMTS network to provide MBMS services. As the network changes from a traditiona...
