Abstract

The invention discloses a nanometer compound material of expansion retardant polypropylene/organic clay as well as a preparation method thereof; the invention is characterized in that 65.0 to 70.0 percent of polypropylene, 3.0 to 8.0 percent of macromolecular compatilizer, 0.5 to 2.5 percent of organic clay, 24.0 percent of expansion retardant and 0.5 to 2.5 percent of rare earth metal oxide are uniformly mixed according to the weight percentage; then the mixture is extruded and granulated, thus obtaining the product; the oxygen index thereof can be as high as 33 percent; according to the vertical consumption testing standard UL-94V0grade and tested by a cone type calorimeter, the peak value of the heat release speed is 250kW.m<-2>; the total heat release amount is 85MJ .m<-2>; the initial heat decomposing temperature is 273 DEG C; the largest heat decomposing temperature is 388 DEG C; the left mass fraction at the temperature of 600 DEG C is 12.0 percent; the nanometer compound material can be used as the special material used for electric apparatuses.
