Abstract

The present invention provides a lamp socket, an electric discharge lamp unit and an illuminating device which can reduce the mechanical load exerted to the lamp when the lamp is installed or transported on the lamp socket. The lamp socket 30 of the invention comprises the following components: a socket case 31; and a socket cover 32. The socket case 31 is provided with a case body 33 and an electric connection terminal 34, wherein, the case body 33 is formed with a bearing dent 33a which is used for loading a lamp power supply component 1. The electric connection terminal 34 is formed with a connection dent 34c which is used for loading a power supply terminal 3 that is coaxially projected from the lamp power supply component 1. Furthermore the electric connection terminal 34 is configured at a specified position of case body 33 adjacent with the bearing dent 33a. The socket cover 32 is formed at a position opposite with the bearing dent 33a of socket case body 33 for covering the fixing part 32a formed with a mode of lamp power supply component 1 and pressing the pressing part 32b of the power supply terminal 3.
