Embodiment Construction

[0033] In the OFDM system, the sub-channels are orthogonal to each other, and the frequency interval Δf between the sub-channels is the reciprocal of the signal period of each sub-channel, namely:

[0034] Δf = 1 T - - - ( 1 )

[0035] Where T=NT S Is the period of the OFDM symbol, T S It is the period of the high-speed two-level data signal, N is an integer, which represents the number of sub-channels, and its value depends on the transmission requirements of the system. A typical optical OFDM symbol can be expressed as:

[0036] S ( t ) = X l = - ∞ ∞ [ X k = 1 N X l , k e j 2 π ( f c + kΔf ) t ] U T ( t - lT ) (2)

[0037] U T ( t ) = 1 0 ≤ t ≤ T 0 else

[0038] Where X l,k It is the sub-channel data symbol after serial-parallel conversion, which is transmitted on the k-th sub-channel of the l-th ...

Abstract

The invention discloses a fully optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol generator. A circuit of the generator comprises a serial and parallel conversion chip used for converting a high-speed bi-level data signal into relatively low-speed N sub-channel signals, and N doubinary precoders used for pre-coding the N sub-channel signals. A light circuit of the generator comprises a laser light source used for outputting a light carrier, a 1:N optical branching device used for uniformly dividing the light carrier into N beams, N optical modulators used for modulating the light carrier according to strength of the doubinary pre-coded signal to obtain a doubinary optical signal, a LiNbO3 waveguide integrated chip used for performing quadrature modulation on the doubinary optical signal to obtain an OFDM symbol which then directly enters an optical fiber to be transmitted, and a driving signal generator used for a driving signal of the LiNbO3 waveguide integrated chip. The generator of the invention realizes optical Fourier inverse transformation in a fully optical way so as to obtain the OFDM symbol, solves the bottleneck problem on electron of the traditional OFDM system and improves transmission speed of an optical communication system.

Description

Technical field [0001] The invention relates to an all-optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (namely all-optical OFDM) symbol generator of an optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing system (namely optical OFDM system). At the transmitting end of the optical OFDM system, two-level data After the signal passes through the all-optical OFDM symbol generator, it is converted into an optical OFDM symbol suitable for optical fiber transmission. Background technique [0002] Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) technology is similar to the commonly used frequency division multiplexing (FDM) technology. Similar to the principle of FDM, OFDM distributes high-speed data streams through serial-to-parallel conversion to several sub-channels with relatively low rates for transmission; the difference is that FDM adjacent channels have a relatively large frequency interval to prevent each other This reduces the spectrum utilization of the entire system.
