Abstract

The invention provides a method and system for continuous tracking a monitored object, aiming at solving the problems that the next adjacent monitored point can not be determined in time often in traditional monitoring when a real object is tracked to cause losing of the tracked real object. The method comprises the following steps of: selecting the calling direction of a camera according to the motion direction of the monitored object; automatically finding a camera which is closest to the current camera according to the calling direction of the camera; and calling the closest camera to monitor the monitored object continuously, and displaying monitored pictures in real time. With the method, the next adjacent monitored point can be automatically converted without need of remembering corresponding positions of hundreds of monitored points completely by monitoring staffs, thereby reducing the condition of losing of the tracked real object.
