The preparation method involves the following steps: heating the waste oil to 80-120 DEG C, filtering the boiled oil and discoloring by a filterelement machine to obtain absolute oil; adding 2-6 parts by weight of calcium carbonate and 2-6 parts by weight of POE (polyoxyethylene) to 10 parts by weight of the prepared absolute oil; and adding0.01-1 part by weight of a fire retardant and 0.01-1 part by weight of an antioxidant, then uniformly stirring to form a raw material, placing the raw material in the feeding port of a small extruder and extruding at the temperature of 100-200 DEG C to form the polymeric material provided by the invention. The polymeric material provided by the invention is non-toxic and odorless, and can lower or raise the temperature by 50-80% while being used as a protective layer on walls and roofs.
