Abstract

The invention discloses a flame-retarding fire extinguishing agent for coal mines, which is prepared from distilled water, 0.5 to 5 percent of propylene glycol, 67.5 to 76 percent of high-hydroscopicity resin, 5 to 9 percent of potassium ferricyanide, 6 to 11 percent of tripolycyanamide and 8 to 12 percent of potassium bicarbonate, wherein the pH value of the flame-retarding fire extinguishing agent is regulated to 6 to 8.5 by oxalic acid or acetic acid. After vacuum dehydration, the flame-retarding fire extinguishing agent for coal mines, which is in form of water absorbing gel, is obtained.The flame-retarding fire extinguishing agent is used by mixing with water according to a ratio of 1:(1,000-10,000). The gel like product formed by water absorbing gel containing the high-hydroscopicity resin and absorbed water has high water retaining performance under a high-temperature condition and has a very high heat capacity. The flame-retarding fire extinguishing agent can form a stable gel layer on the surface of an object so as to insulate a fire source from the air, prevent fire from spreading and consequently extinguish the fire. Compared with common water, the flame-retarding fireextinguishing agent has a lower flowing rate and a high viscosity; and the flame-retarding fire extinguishing agent not only can reduce the temperature of the surface of coal and but also can permeate into the inside of the coal to cool the coal and to prevent the coal from burning again, so that the fire extinguishing effect is enhanced.
