The flame-retarding fire extinguishing agent can form a stable gel layer on the surface of an object so as to insulate a fire source from the air, prevent fire from spreading and consequently extinguish the fire. Compared with common water, the flame-retarding fireextinguishing agent has a lower flowing rate and a high viscosity; and the flame-retarding fire extinguishing agent not only can reduce the temperature of the surface of coal and but also can permeate into the inside of the coal to cool the coal and to prevent the coal from burning again, so that the fire extinguishing effect is enhanced.
