Abstract

The invention relates to a communication method of an IP module of SOC (System-On-Chip) and OCB (On-Chip Bus). In the method, two groups of registers are arranged between the IP module and the OCB; the two groups of registers are respectively a control register and a data register; a control signal emitted by a CPU of SOC is loaded to the control register through OCB; the control register controls the work of the IP module; after the work is finished, the IP module requests interruption to the CPU through the control register and writes generated data into the data register; the CPU responses to the interruption in suitable time; and the data in the data register are read into the CPU or put into a on-chip-memory of SOC. According to the communication method of the invention, the working speed of the IP module is irrelevant to a clock of the CPU and has independence; the CPU automatically finishes reading and writing in the suitable time according to a real condition; in this way, the CPU can be released for processing other affairs; the communication is quicker and more efficient; and the communication method is suitable for various IP modules.
