Embodiment 1
[0078] Such as Figure 4 Synthesis of 1,4-bis(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)phthalonitrile (compound 12) from dicyanohydroquinone (manufactured by Tokyo Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.) . That is, a solution of 2.3 g of sodium metal dissolved in 80 ml of methanol (solvent) was added to 8.0 g of dicyanohydroquinone at room temperature under a nitrogen atmosphere, stirred at room temperature for 30 minutes, and unreacted methanol was removed under reduced pressure. 40.0 g of 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl tosylate and N,N-dimethylformyl (DMF) as a solvent were added thereto, and the mixture was heated to 120° C. and stirred for 48 hours. After cooling the reaction mixture to room temperature, ice water was added, and the resulting solid was collected by filtration and washed with methanol. The solid thus obtained was recrystallized from ethanol / hexane (mixed liquid), and dried under reduced pressure at 50°C for 6 hours. Thus, 11.7 g of 1,4-bis(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)phthalonitrile (compound 12) was...
