Embodiment Construction

[0040] figure 1 A first embodiment of the schematically shown motor assembly 5 is shown. It can be seen here that the heat exchanger 2 is arranged between the converter 3 and the electric motor 1 . The electric motor 1 here has a motor shaft 4 . By arranging the heat exchanger 2 between the converter 3 and the electric motor 1 , both the converter 3 and the electric motor 1 can be cooled with the help of the heat exchanger 2 . This enables an extremely compact construction of the motor assembly 5 . Another advantage is that the connection of the converter 3 to the electric motor 1 is already possible by manufacturing the motor assembly 5 in the workshop. Furthermore, it is already possible to fully start up the motor unit 5 in the workshop. Quality problems on the customer's side can thus be avoided.

[0041] The layout of heat exchanger 2 and converter 3 can be flexibly designed, see for example figure 2 . figure 2A second embodiment of the schematically shown motor ...

Abstract

The invention relates to a motor unit (5) comprising a motor (1), a heat exchanger (2) and an inverter (3) for the motor (1). In order to provide a compact and cost-effective motor unit, it is proposed that the heat exchanger (2) is configured to cool both the motor (1) and the inverter (3).

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to an electric motor assembly comprising an electric motor, a heat exchanger and a converter for the electric motor. Background technique [0002] At present, low-voltage electric motors are mainly designed as machines cooled by cooling fins. Such machines are used in grid operation or in converters. [0003] Among them, the converter is mostly a cabinet machine, which is statically more or less far away from the motor, and is positioned in front of the motor. In many cases very long leads from the converter to the motor are required. These cases are subject to very high voltage peaks due to reflections occurring in the cable. Such voltage peaks can lead, for example, to winding insulation problems and shaft current problems. [0004] Furthermore, it is known from high-voltage electric motors to arrange heat exchangers laterally on the electric motor. This enables better cooling of the electric motor.
