Furthermore, these bending cycles introduce compressive and tensile loads into the polymer material of the filler profiled element, more particularly in the immediate vicinity of the free ends of the foldbacks and additional reinforcement reinforcing elements, which compressive and tensile loads The tensile loads create stresses and thermal deformations which, over time, are likely to degrade the tire, necessitating replacement

Embodiment Construction

[0064] figure 1 A bead of a tire for heavy goods vehicles according to a preferred first embodiment of the invention is depicted.

[0065] This preferred first embodiment comprises in each bead:

[0066] - a main carcass reinforcement portion 161 comprising a single layer of metallic reinforcing elements, which is wrapped around a bead wire core forming a turnback 162,

[0067] - The bead wire core comprises a circumferential reinforcing element made of metal 171 surrounded by a polymer material 172 .

[0068] - additional reinforcement 163,

[0069] - a filler forming element such that the bead wire core extends radially outwards, having a triangular cross-section in any meridian plane and being stacked in radial direction by three polymer materials 11 , 12 , 13 Formed, the three polymer materials 11, 12, 13 are in contact with each other respectively along contact surfaces which intersect any meridian plane along the meridians 112, 123,

Abstract

A tire having two beads and a carcass reinforcement with a main part wrapped within each bead around a bead wire core to form a turned-back portion. Each bead has an additional reinforcement and a filler profiled element extending the bead wire core radially outwards. This filler profiled element has, in any meridian plane, a three exterior sides including a radially inner side, axially inner side and axially outer side, with the axially inner and outer sides converging at a radially outermost point, and is formed of a stack in the radial direction of at least three polymer materials in contact along a contact surface that intersects any meridian plane along a meridian line.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a tire fitted to a heavy goods vehicle, such as a commercial vehicle intended to transport heavy loads. More specifically, the present invention relates to radial tires. [0002] The invention covers more particularly the beads of the tyre, that is to say those parts of the tire which provide a mechanical connection between the tire and the rim on which it is mounted. This tire comprises two beads connected respectively by two sidewalls to a tread strip intended to come into contact with the ground through the tread surface. Background technique [0003] The following definitions are used below: [0004] - "Meridian plane": the plane containing the axis of rotation of the tyre. [0005] - "equatorial plane": the plane passing through the middle of the tread surface and perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the tyre. [0006] - "radial direction": a direction perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the tyre. [0007] - ...
