The assisting management device comprises a neighbor listening unit and an information reporting unit, wherein the neighbor listening unit is used for obtaining the IP address and the access port identification of the access switch from the access switch through a neighbor discovery protocol, and the information reporting unit is used for carrying the IP address and the access port identification of the access switch in a video monitoring signalling message to be sent to the video management server.
