A method and a device which are applied to the using field of a high-brightness laser projection machine and used for protecting human eyes are characterized in that a sensor is utilized to monitor a projecting light beam area of the high-brightness laser projection machine, a virtual fence is built in a hard-light dangerous area, and anyone is effectively prevented from entering the dangerous area by means of the method and the device; preferably, an ultrasonic wave sensor is utilized for detecting a human or an object in the projection area; a controller is used for collecting emission and return time of ultrasonic waves, the specific position of the human or the object in the front area is calculated and a shape and a size of the front object are generally analyzed and judged, and a passive infrared sensor provides judgment data about whether the object is lived; and when the controller judges that an object which is harmful to the human or the human eyes is located within a safe distance of the projection machine, a command is sent to the projection machine, so that the projecting light beam output is closed or the output brightness is reduced, the human eyes avoid injury caused by hard lights, or otherwise, normal projection display is not influenced.
