Abstract

The preparation method comprises the following steps: uniformly mixing 3-30% of initiator, 5-40% of emulsifier and 10-40% of water based on total weight, adding 55-85% of mixed monomers based on total weight and all functional monomers in the mixture to obtain a homogeneous phase emulsion A, wherein the mixed monomers comprise (methyl) acrylate, (methyl) styrene and (methyl) acrylic acid; adding a polyurethane prepolymer, balance of initiator, the emulsifier, the mixed monomers and the water in a reaction kettle, dripping the homogeneous phase emulsion A in the reaction kettle to react; using an alkaline matter to neutralize the pH value of the reactant to 6-9; at last, obtaining the high-smoothness improved styrene-acrylic emulsion for papermaking prime coat.
