Problems solved by technology

Therefore, also in this solution, the guide shoes and slides do not make any contribution in terms of the mechanical resistance to the lifted heavy loads, and they do not guarantee an optimal distribution and support of the transverse loads acting on the segments

Embodiment Construction

[0064] With reference to the accompanying drawings, a telescopic jib according to the invention is indicated with numeral 10 and can be used in a crane for lifting loads (only in figure 1 shown schematically in ), for example in the field of architecture or construction.

[0065] The telescoping arm 10 comprises a plurality of sections 12, 14, 16, one of which slides within the other, which can be extended linearly to assume an extended operating condition, or one in a non-operating condition or when the machine is stopped. The other is retracted, or assumed to be in an intermediate position between the two extreme positions.

[0066] The segments 12, 14, 16 have a box-like cross-section, inside which are provided respective axial positioning seats 25, 27 to accommodate the segments in their retracted positions.

[0067] The segments 12, 14, 16 are shaped and dimensioned to co-operate with the reciprocating portion so as to be able to be inserted axially into the respective a...

Abstract

A telescopic arm for cranes able to lift a load comprises a plurality of tubular segments (12, 14, 16) which can be extended one with respect to the other. At least one of said segments (12, 14, 16) is made of a composite material. The arm comprises longitudinal guide means (45) disposed between said at least one segment (12, 14, 16) and at least another segment (12, 14, 16) associated consecutively and cooperating directly in extension, outside or inside, with said at least one segment (12, 14, 16), which guide means (45) are applied on corresponding internal surfaces (37, 38) of said at least one segment (12, 14, 16) and external surfaces (36, 38) of said other segment (12, 14, 16) to guide the reciprocal sliding thereof.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a telescopic boom for a crane and a crane comprising said boom. Background technique [0002] As we all know, a crane is a work vehicle used to lift heavy loads (in the several ton range), usually consisting of a truck on which is mounted a telescopic boom consisting of movable sections, one of which can reciprocate within another slide. A hook or other lifting device is provided at the upper end of the wall to lift the load. [0003] The arm can be angularly oriented and telescopically lengthened to carry a hook or other lifting device to a desired distance and height. [0004] Usually the telescoping segments are made of metallic material, usually steel, and have a tubular shape with a cross-section of different shapes, for example rectangular, rectangular with rounded bottom, hexagonal or others. The end of each segment has a band-shaped reinforcing element which also acts as a stop in the inoperative position. [0005] ...
