The method includes the following steps: a sending end packages an IP datagram and check data thereof into an SLIP datagram and then sends the SLIP datagram to a receiving end through a serial line; the receiving end receives the SLIP datagram through the serial line and carries out check on the IP datagram based on the check data in the SLIP datagram and when the check is passed, analysis processing is carried out on the IP datagram; and then an improved SLIP protocol is operated on the serial line of sending end and receiving end devices so as to realize operation of a TCP / IP protocol.
