Abstract

The invention provides a wireless communication synchronization system. Wireless communication synchronization at a wireless signal receiver is described. The received radio signal may be a spread spectrum signal comprising a periodic extension of the primary code, a periodic extension of the secondary code and a data portion. The receiver may determine the first sequence of chips representing the secondary code by extracting the primary code and data portions from the first received wireless signal. The receiver may further determine a second sequence of chips representing the secondary code from the second received wireless signal by extracting the primary code from the second received wireless signal. The receiver can identify a phase offset associated with the received wireless signal by analyzing the first chip sequence and the second chip sequence.
