Abstract

A space-shift keying method based on a time-space matrix constellation diagram includes that an emitter of a communication system establishes a time-space matrix constellation diagram off-line, the emitter of the communication system finds out the position of an emission antenna in the time-space matrix and establishes the time-space matrix constellation diagram by determining the sending value of the position, and the information bits input by the emitter are divided into groups according to the constructed time-space matrix constellation diagram. The information bits in each group are mapped to one time-space matrix in the time-space matrix constellation diagram for signal emission. The reception apparatus of the communication system employs maximum-likelihood demodulation, and receives signals sent by the emitter. The space-shift keying system obtains emission diversity gain, and the performance of the system is improved. The limitation that the number of the emission antennas of a conventional space-shift keying system has to be the power of 2 is overcome, and the design flexibility of the system is improved. The transmission characteristics of a single chain of the conventional space-shift keying system are retained, and the complexity of a multi-antenna system is reduced.
