Abstract

Embodiments of the invention provide a method and an apparatus for determining a low-frequency oscillation suppression effect of a power system stabilizer. The method comprises: under the condition of keeping a constant power angle of a power generator in which the power system stabilizer is located, obtaining a frequency response characteristic curve from an excitation reference voltage to electromagnetic torque of the power generator; calculating the sensitivity of an instable eigenvalue with respect to the gain of the power system stabilizer; setting parameters of the power system stabilizer according to the frequency response characteristic curve or the sensitivity; and performing simulation by utilizing the set parameters of the power system stabilizer to obtain a closed-loop eigenvalue of a power system. According to the scheme, the set parameters of the power system stabilizer can suppress specified-mode oscillation in a maximized way; and the closed-loop eigenvalue obtained by performing the simulation based on the set parameters of the power system stabilizer can accurately and effectively reflect the low-frequency oscillation suppression effect of the set parameters of the power system stabilizer in the power system.
