A motor driving chip and a microcontroller are powered by a power supply; the microcontroller outputs a control signal to the motor driving chip to control the operation of the motor; an operation loop of the motor is connected with a sampling resistor in series; the sampling resistor converts a current signal in the loop into a voltage signal; the current signal is amplified through an amplifier and then the amplified current signal is output to an overcurrent response circuit; and the overcurrent response circuit controls the on-off of the signal transmitted to the motor driving chip from the microcontroller. The vehicle-mounted direct current motor driving chip overcurrent protection system has the advantage of quite high instantaneity; the response time of the whole system is within 10uS from the moment that the sampling resistor samples the overcurrent signal to the moment that the overcurrent response circuit stably outputs; and therefore, the protection mechanism of the motor driving chip is perfected to a large extent, and the reliability of the motor driving chip in use is improved.
