Abstract

The invention provides a method for recognizing a false dying gasp of an ONU (Optical Distribution Network) by an OLT (Optical Line Terminal) of a PON (Passive Optical Network) system. The method comprises the following steps: recognizing and filtering a dying gasp message reported by the ONU by the OLT; establishing a data table by the OLT to maintain and record a dying gasp message report state of each ONU, wherein contents in the data table are initialized when the ONU is successfully authorized; judging whether the ONU is on-line and recognizing the truth and falseness of the dying gasp message by the OLT by searching registration information of the ONU which reports the dying gasp message at an underlying MPCP (Multi Point Control Protocol) registration list; using a cycle detection mechanism to determine the false dying gasp message by the OLT; and cyclically scanning the whole ONU by the OLT in a running process, and ending the scanning process when the OLT stops running. The method for recognizing the false dying gasp of the ONU by the OLT of the PON system provided by the invention effectively avoids wrong judgment of the false dying gasp, avoids OLT equipment processing chaos, and reduces maintenance cost.
