Abstract

The invention provides a variational mode decomposition-based method for locating a leakage point of a pipeline by acoustic emission. The method comprises the following steps: acquiring two acoustic signals emitted when the pipeline leaks by utilizing acoustic sensors installed at two ends of the pipeline; separately performing variational mode decomposition on the two acquired acoustic signals, and performing Gaussian smoothing on each mode in a decomposition process so as to realize noise elimination; performing cross-correlation analysis on the two acoustic signals after noise elimination processing to acquire time delay estimation of the two acoustic signals; and performing locating calculation on the position of the leakage point according to the acquired time delay estimation. According to the method for locating the leakage point of the pipeline, provided by the invention, the signals are processed by utilizing a variational mode decomposition method, and thus, interference of noise to the signals can be eliminated on the premise that substantive characteristics of the signals are kept; moreover, the cross-correlation analysis is performed on filtered signals, so that leakage point locating precision is effectively increased.
