Abstract

The invention discloses a region coverage optimization method suitable for a video sensor network with an adjustable sensing direction. The method comprises the following steps: building a mathematical model of directed sensor nodes by extracting parameters such as sensing directions, sensing radiuses and coordinate positions of video sensor nodes; building a monitoring region model after gridding a monitoring region of the network; and building a sensor node sensing region model based on the characteristic of limited sensing ranges of the sensor nodes. Through a built region coverage model, problems are solved through a particle swarm algorithm specific to the optimization goal of improving the network coverage. Through adoption of the region coverage optimization method based on the particle swarm algorithm suitable for the video sensor network with the adjustable sensing direction, region coverage is maximized, so that the resource utilization ratio and service quality of the video sensor network are improved effectively.
