Abstract

The invention relates to an over-voltage monitoring system and monitoring method for a transmission line. The system comprises an over-voltage monitoring device, a background data processing device, a high voltage arm capacitor and a low voltage arm capacitor, wherein the high voltage arm capacitor and the low voltage arm capacitor are connected in series with each other. The high voltage arm capacitor comprises a number of ceramic capacitor insulators which are connected in series. One end of the high-voltage arm capacitor is electrically connected with the transmission line to be detected, and the other end is electrically connected with one end of the low voltage arm capacitor. The low voltage arm capacitor comprises a ceramic capacitor insulator. The other end of the low voltage arm capacitor is grounded through a tower. The over-voltage monitoring device is arranged on the tower. The input end of the over-voltage monitoring device is electrically connected with both ends of the low voltage arm capacitor. The over-voltage monitoring device is communicatively connected with the background data processing device. The advantages of high dielectric strength, good mechanical properties, cheap price and the like of the ceramic capacitor insulators are used. The insulators are no longer directly hung on the transmission line. The over-voltage of the transmission line to be detected is monitored in real time. Over-voltage data are completely and accurately recorded.
